TuFFGrass does it again!  We transformed this home daycare center and expanded their ability to serve their kids and parents!

Generally, running a home daycare center puts a lot of pressure on the home owner to keep the yard safe and usable for the kids that play there! Having a surface that can be used anytime of the year with very little grooming is ideal and artificial grass delivers a surface that looks like grass and plays like grass, rain or shine!

Lawn Updated to Artificial Grass

Here’s a wonderful renovation project we did for the family who operates this at-home-daycare center for kids in Sacramento! 

After prepping the site by removing existing organics, roots, amended soil we improved drainage with extended subsurface drains; extensions to downspouts draining rainwater from their roof into the backyard.

After adding fabrics, we feathered in a porous base material and compacted it to grade. During the process we leveled the surfaces which improved the stability of their redwood play set. And finally, the last step was installing our “fall zone” safe artificial grass lawn.

Artificial Grass Delivers Stable Surfaces

Compared to real grass – TuFFGrass surfaces are so stable and we are able to improve the drainage and slope to accommodate use right after a rain or in the inclement weather we experience here in Sacramento in the winter.

If you’re experiencing any puddling during or after rainstorms modifying, repairing and adding drainage systems is easy to do. Most artificial grass surfaces will drain from 20-200 inches of standing water per hour.  Once your finished system is complete, the base, native soil conditions and slope will all have an impact on permeability – however – artificial grass outperforms all other ground covers for coverage; and, overall, it looks like a lush, beautiful lawn!
