Putting Green Perfection!
Granite Bay CA has some incredible properties that are rural, lush with natural and professional landscaping. Most yards have some type of water problem! Either water is not cheap, or it’s hard to get access to or worse, there’s too much as Granite Bay has a lot of shallow springs and sumpy areas that need as much management as areas that remain completely dry.
Backyard Challenges Demand Custom Solutions
In this backyard, a shallow spring kept the center of a huge lawn constantly damp – grass wouldn’t grow and ugly channel drains were needed all year round! More bugs, less playable area, hard to help thrive! This yard’s lawn had a ton of stuff working against it from the beginning and the family was ready for a change.
The rest of the yard had a severe slope due to the natural grade of the property which really tested the ability of the lawn to thrive! Watering was professionally managed but the slope wouldn’t hold the water long enough to allow it to percolate properly.

An ideal solution was to renovate the whole area with artificial grass! The family loves to golf, adding a putting green seemed like the best solution! The center area was rebuilt into a “dry” creek bed, with attractive, drought tolerant plants, a nice wide “bridge” to wander from lawn (fringe, chpping area) and putting green.
For this family, artificial grass was the perfect idea!
We added a large lawn (chipping area) where the family can walk up and drop their ball to take a short chip into the green and fringe area. From that first drop, it’s a short trip over the new landscape bridge to locate the ball and chip into one of three cup locations.
We also put together a flagstone area and added a beautiful metal bench the customer already owned along with a new club stand and ball basket. Once on the green, there’s plenty of reason to stay and relax – make up any combo of the three cups into a game of “Exec Nine”!
